The Savanna
Strollers Pinery Walking Club is a partnership between the Friends of
Pinery Park, Ontario Parks, the Grand Bend Community Health Center and the
Lambton Heritage Museum. Many thanks to the Grand Bend Community Health Centre for purchasing the club's park passes for 2011.
Each week on Wednesday mornings the Savanna
Strollers Pinery Walking Club walk a different trail in
Pinery Provincial Park.
Participants will meet one of our
Volunteer Coordinators at the Lambton Heritage Museum side parking lot at 9:30
am and then car pool with others in the group to the walking trail. We will recruit a volunteer sweeper from the walkers. The coordinator will lead the walk and the sweeper will take the rear. We now have walkie talkies to allow for communication between the leader and sweeper.
Upon arrival at the trailhead the participants will be led in a short warmup and stretching routine before heading out. Fast walkers are welcome to do the trail 2 or 3 times to get their steps in.
